Educational Software to IT Services
Our History
1986-1994 (Educational Software)
Brain Technologies was launched on Dec. 19th, 1986 as an educational software development company for products running on Commodore Amiga computers (Amiga OS). The first product was a vocabulary and spelling tutor, Mr. Robot’s Speak’n Spell, debuted in Amiga World magazine (Dec. 1990). Brain Tech.’s owner, Branko M. Carija, designed, programmed, and marketed this game. It features 1000 full color pictures and real time speech animation (state of the art for educational software at the time and made possible because of the Amiga’s unique capabilities).

1995-2010 (Utility and Educational Software)
Continuing with utility program development, Brain Tech. released PixLib. This is a clip art library of compressed images. The object oriented picture compression engine in the Mr. Robot’s Speak ‘n Spell program compresses the 1000 images to fit in about 1MB. Paint programs available for the Amiga and other computers are compatible with the exported image files.
Afterward, in 1999, we published an educational software tool for learning astronomy: Map Viewer Software for the Three Dimensional Map of The Milky Way Galaxy. Brain Tech. started manufacture of a physical glow-in-the-dark 3D Map of the Milky Way Galaxy, but stopped because planetariums, etc., seemed to exclusively find the Map Viewer useful.
